I am Jaimin Patel.I will be graduating with an MS (concentration – Telecommunication Network) from NYU Poly Tech University, NY in May 2010. Particular highlights are:
I have strong analytical skills as I implemented various strategies in the client application which reduced the process and product lead times by almost 30-40%.
My job function required excellent communication, inter-personal skills and the ability to perform in dynamic settings and team structures.
Having done my engineering program in Telecommunication, I have great knowledge in the field of wireless and networking and I have the experience of using various kinds of software. I am very much interested in working in the field as I find it very instigating and rewarding.
Being a CCNA certified individual, I have a clear understanding of the full life cycle of wired, wireless, routing and networking. I also have experience in learning and excelling at new technologies as needed.

What does Wireless Industry Demand for ?

There is an ambiguity on my mind in choosing a specific knowledge domain in Telecom Industry. I realize my CV on different job portals has impacted the employers in a dubious state. My CV broadly classify my technical skill set - GSM GPRS EDGE CDMA UMTS - SS7 TCP IP ATM etc, while my hand on experience is on "Installation & Commissioning of 3G Capable BTS and MW" moreover I got involved in hardcore so-called techno commercial activity which I feel reflected the vulnerability to my presence on Job portals.

Amazingly I do get frequent job offers in my “area of interest” that is GSM - CDMA (Core Networking part- Switches, O&M) SS7, ISUP, CAMEL etc (purely live projects) for multinational clients. But what disheartens me the most is they only entertain minimum 3 to 5 years of experience candidates while I posses Zilch towards live - on hand experience in the said technologies. I do have architectural knowledge of those technologies and good understanding of its functionality but I am not welcomed by any company since I don't have experience.

I sometimes feel if the industry can create a way for aspiring, specialized in wireless technology candidates like me and develop a platform to allow us a chance to stand and work with experienced expertise under their supervision then I sincerely feel this approach could help people like me to grow with advanced approach of the wireless industry.
