* Strong ability to complete load balancing planning between UMTS carriers using Ericsson parameters and tilt changes to manage traffic load.
* Must have excellent project tracking, managing, and organizational skills.
* Candidate must have the ability to review current processes used by ATT traffic engineering, find opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to management.
* Understand UMTS and OSS parameters, the interdependencies, and performance
* Proven ability to surf stats and detect problems areas and take corrective actions
* Strong MS Excel skills, sorting, mass data management
* Understanding of Nokia Infrastructure and 2G and 3G relationships

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-5 years experience as a field technician or similar role
• Experience or education equivalent of Associates degree in
communications, navigation, radar, electronics, or computer technology
• Understanding of all components of a GSM network, including T-1
architecture and microwave theory
• Familiarity with RF engineering aspects of cell site construction and
cable installation
• Knowledge of applicable test equipment
• Agilent E7495B Base Station Test Set a plus
• Prior experience in a Nortel GSM environment a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of Distributed Antenna Systems a plus
• Ability to travel to Caribbean and Latin America locations required

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Network Planning - deliver expert consulting, design and engineering support to customers
• Work with Sales and Professional Services to develop state-of-art customized wireless solutions for Carriers worldwide
• Proactively resolve RF Optimization field issues, ability to make technical recommendations to improve the system performance
• Represent the company’s technical capabilities and manage day-to-day technical needs of wireless customers. Support / enable customer specific solutions to grow business. Steer customer expectations according to product and network management capabilities
• Post-process drive test data and perform statistical analysis
• Produce coverage plots, call drop, handoff results, interference, pilot pollutions, network parameter levels and statistics, analysis, etc.
• Identify customer needs beyond scope of project and identify emerging opportunities
Requirements:
• Bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Five or more years of wireless engineering experience including at least two years experience in UMTS
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one of the following technologies: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA and HSPDA/HSUPA
• Successful history of managing stressful situations and adapting to rapidly changing program requirements while working as an individual or as part of a team.
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Five or more years of engineering experience including at least two years experience in UMTS
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one of the following technologies: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA and HSPDA/HSUPA
• Proven leadership skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Successful history of managing stressful situations and adapting to rapidly changing program requirements while working with a team.
Other Qualifications:
• Excellent knowledge of GPRS/UMTS network architecture
• Proven customer skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel both internally and externally (within vendor and end-customer environment)
• Hands on experience in OSS and SNMP protocol
• Excellent knowledge of SS7 protocol and procedures (SCCP, MTP2, MTP3b, MAP, RANAP, BSSGP, BSSGP+ and SIGTRAN), ATM and Frame Relay technologies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
