Juniper’s India development center was established in 2003 with a team of 14 engineers and has grown to strength of 1400+ engineers today accounting for over 30% of Junipers worldwide engineering workforce. This centre is playing a key role across all engineering functions from ASIC development, to HW/Board/FPGA design, software development and QA across multiple product lines of Juniper. There are several products that are completely owned in India and are designed and developed here.

As a leader in the packet switching space, Juniper has made a strategic decision to expand its product portfolio in the mobile broadband space. With the strength of JUNOS (Juniper’s network operating system) and best in class packet forwarding products, Juniper is positioned to re-define the scale and lead the mobile broadband revolution. In order to realize the mobile broadband vision Juniper is starting a new engineering group in India. This team is chartered with building the edge gateways for 3G and LTE packet core.
As a part of building the above team, Juniper Networks is looking for senior technical talent to play the role of senior architects and designers in the team.
This position will be located in Bangalore, India.

Responsibilities for this role include:
• Defining the architecture and driving the design and development of products in the mobile edge family.
• Drive the development of next generation Mobile Gateways for the Packet Core.
• Contributing to the standards bodies and driving Juniper vision at these forums.
• Work closely with the engineering and product management team to crystallize the requirements and realization of the same in the product.

Candidate requirements:
• 14+ years experience in building innovative and complex software in the wireless domain.
• Strong technical credentials, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience leading and defining the architecture and engineering of distributed systems.
• A strong understanding of Mobile packet core protocols and interfaces – RANAP, GTP, LTE, Diameter, Gx and Sx etc.
• A track record of contributions to standards bodies like 3GPP, IETF etc.
• Good understanding of the customer needs and deployment scenarios with an ability to translate those into engineering solutions.
• A keen learner with passion for disruptive innovation.
• A track record of communicating worldwide with executives and non-technical leaders.
• Experience with multi-national companies, dealing with customers across the world.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent strongly preferred
