Our client currently seeks Wimax Field Engineer to be responsible for the implementation of their Wimax network. Direct experience performing wireless broadband network design support, as well as experience with VoIP is desired.
Please note: This position is located in Washington DC/Baltimore Maryland area and we are only considering candidates currently living in the area who can make a daily commute.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the implementation of WiMAX network
• Responsible for installation supervision, site acceptance and troubleshooting all network elements including RF Audit and Site Surveys
• Network Planning, Pre-Configuration of Networks and the Installation & Commissioning
• Provide field engineering support for the integration and commissioning of wireless solutions
• Design, implement and troubleshoot wireless network infrastructure
• Conduct wireless site surveys/final sweeps and make corresponding recommendations for optimization of the network
• Troubleshoot wireless networks by using a variety of test tools
• Utilize wireless protocols and frequencies in the field
• Research wireless based technology and trains on current materials
• Responsible for project documentation and deliverables
Ideal candidate will have these qualifications:
• 3 + years direct experience performing wireless broadband network design and support, including experience with VoIP.
• Very strong background in IP networks, design, implementation and maintenance
• 3 + years direct experience system engineer or equivalent for a wireless broadband equipment manufacturer or system integrator.
• Must have solid practical experience with wireless broadband and RLAN equipment.
• Direct experience with lab test equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector test analyzers, smart bits, BERT and Ethernet sniffers/analyzers.
• Writing reports and technical documents in publishable form.
Requirements:
• Willing to travel if needed but looking for local candidates so travel will be limited.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
